FLORENCE, S.C. - West Chester's softball team won two of its five contests at the Francis Marion Patriot Softball Tournament held at the Freedom Florence Recreation Complex over the weekend.
The Golden Rams improve to 4-3 on the season and will be off Monday as the team travels to Savannah, Ga., for their next tournament during the team's southern trip.
More detailed information will follow when box scores and game reports are collected. Junior left-hander Shannon Padula registered the win in a 5-1 decision over Shepherd on Sunday. Augusta State completed a perfect tournament with a 16-2 victory over the Golden Rams on Sunday in a game shortened to five innings. Included in Augusta State's victories was a 5-2 verdict over Kutztown.
Padula also picked up the win in West Chester's 7-1 win over Salem International on Saturday.
